GW Lisner Auditorium presents 10th Annual Flamenco Festival: Marina Heredia and the Arab-Andalusian Chekara Orchestra of Tetouan 6pm - Spanish ham and cheese tasting by Jaleo
This program brilliantly brings together flamenco with the Andalusian repertoire of Morocco - music that originated in the courts of Sevilla, Granada and Córdoba during the Golden Age of Andalusia when Muslims, Jews and Christians co-existed in southern Spain.
Marina Heredia is an entrancing voice from Granada and important figure in the new generation of flamenco singers. She shares the stage with the Arab-Andalusian Chekara Orchestra of Tetouan, which has collaborated with many of flamenco’s leading singers and includes musicians on violin, oud (lute), kanun (zither), guitar, and percussion, and dancer Jara Heredia.
Tres Culturas is presented in co-operation with the Spain-USA Foundation, the Embassy of Spain, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Presidency of European Union.
Tres Culturas is part of Preview Spain: Arts & Culture program
